Once the shelter reopens, we will continue to house most pets in foster care, while ensuring we can provide humane care to animals that must enter the shelter system. Many volunteers want to do both in-shelter activities AND fostering!

We buy first quality goods that are damaged and/or abandoned while in transit. The Front Street Animal Shelter does far more than caring for lost and abandoned animals in our community. Not all volunteers will be approved to handle all the animals in our care. All volunteers must be tested for COVID-19 monthly and share their negative test results. We cannot accommodate student projects after March 1. As a safety precaution, we will limit the total number of volunteers on-site initially to ten per day and require that they sign up ahead of time for a specific task using our new online scheduling tool.
