I had to get it and add to my collection. One less movie off my wish list. Director Philip Kaufman soundtracks the turf battles and rites of passage narrative with plenty of rock'n'roll. So this DVD brings back memories and although this films set in 1963, for me and my friends we adopted the film as for rockabillies. Timeless Movie that brought back memories of being a teenager when I first saw the Wanderers.

The picture quality is beautifully restored , and looks and sounds great , nice little written intro before the movie starts . In the unedited Turkey offers Ducky leader a “ BJ “ , which Ducky leader responds to by saying the “ BJ” word , pulls the switch blade , and the Ducky’s chase after Turkey , repeatedly saying the “ BJ” word , which to me slightly changes the persona of how you saw the Ducky’s in the original, not necessarily bad , but not really great either .So to those who haven’t seen this movie , or who haven’t seen the unedited version , I suggest you watch the regular version , then watch the unedited.

Love this movie always been one of my favorites and a classic. One of my favourite films of all time...captures the reality of mid 60's New York and growing up in that time.
