They were and still are tradition, though the new lot of children aren't as enthusiastic as we were when these type of movies came on our local network TV slots, they are looked forward to. Here's the thing with these old school Christmas animation movies. Really, really bad.

The main stars are Ethan Suplee, John Goodman, Carol Kane, Delta Burke, Eddie Griffin, Dylan Minnette, . SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW TO THEIR NAME. They aren't all the same ... some have scenes cut, different soundtracks, etc etc, and there is a lot of negative comments about the versions of this movie with deleted scenes. When Santa tells them that he doesn't think there are any children left who still care about the true spirit of Christmas, the two elves decide to prove him wrong. Eventually Santa regains his faith in humanity with the help of a boy named Iggy Thistlewhite. Between that and Chris Kattan chewing up all the scenery--just spend your money on the original. It was originally broadcast on December 10, 1974 on ABC. The cartoon is my favorite Christmas cartoon, so I can only base the review upon comparison between the two. Horrible my friends kids thought it be like that puppet one on tv it failed ugh! I HAVE NO AGENDA. Jingle and Jangle travel to the United States in search of the Christmas spirit. Ok so there's some odd choices for casting in this live action remake of the Rankin Bass classic.....BUT it captures most of the essence of the bickering Miser brothers, and was slightly ahead of its time in portraying the ever continuing and escalating of the commercialization of Christmas that leads to Santa not wanting to other delivering presents anymore. If you do watch it, just skip to the Heat Miser/Snow Miser song part (still great) and just remember it fondly. I'd highly recommend this.
