Squidward: [as SpongeBob and Patrick duck down into the box] Are you trying to say that I have no imagination? In “Rock-a-Bye Bivalve,” SpongeBob and Patrick find a baby scallop they name Junior and decide to raise him together. Because if you don’t, and you end up fighting the whole time, you just might miss the important things in life (like your child growing up). Patrick! In “Idiot Box,” SpongeBob and Where's the tape recorder? SpongeBob: No, Patrick, I can't do that! SpongeBob: Because I already cut off my own arms! [closes the box] I don't know why I'm wasting my time out here when I could be watching my brand new television. SpongeBob and Patrick sit inside the box] [Norton throws a big box next to him and Patrick] Squidward is shocked] Sponge... Bob? SpongeBob and Patrick: Yay!
Patrick: Yeah, see you in the morning. In “Idiot Box,” SpongeBob and Patrick use their imagination to their fullest while playing inside a box.
SpongeBob and Patrick: Yeah! [changes channel to a soap opera with a man and woman] Squidward: Wow, I never thought of it that way. Patrick: [imitates robot] Beep-beep-beep. "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV" SpongeBob: For that you'll walk the plank! Squidward: That's a big box! SpongeBob: That's me! Squidward then hears them start, it sounds like their mountain climbing inside the box. Patrick: A starfish! Patrick: What? Squidward: Yes! A brand-new television? [Patrick throws the glasses and they both start dancing and hopping] SpongeBob: We don't have a tape recorder, Squidward! [turns on TV to see a show with boxes on a conveyor belt in a factory] Man: I couldn't afford a present this year, so I got you this box. [he slams the bottom of the box with his fists] All right, fine. I’m sure I’m not the only one who wishes this episode had been emphasized at the start of high school. SpongeBob: [Squidward looks out of his window] I still can't believe those pirates beat all those robots.
So SpongeBob and Patrick buy a TV which at the time was probably retailed at ohhhh $801. [he and SpongeBob walk to Squidward's house and a timpani noise is heard in the background as the screen fades to black] It’s tough to maintain that delicate balance between staying true to your identity and fulfilling the need to impress others.
SpongeBob: Take it easy, Patrick, you've got to acclimate! SpongeBob: With... [SpongeBob jumps on the flap of the box, makes another rainbow with his hands] ...imagination, I can be anything I want!
SpongeBob: Our voices! [Patrick takes the hat box and closes the box they're sitting in and police sirens are heard again] Maybe it really was their imagination. Another box!

For ’90s kids like me, we grew up engrossed by the undersea adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants, particularly the seasons before the first movie. I'm imaging myself watching TV... [points to the one on the trash-can] ...and there it is! Just do it so I can get back and watch TV!
