It was a beautiful day (a Monday) and the weather was nice so we brought some breakfast drinks and sandwiches and sat on some driftwood to have breakfast. Prepare to climb over some logs to make it onto the sand and bring a raincoat if visiting in the winter. It's marked by the iconic Crying Lady Rock, which is said to look like a woman's face. The trail has well maintained steps which lead you through a lovely forest down to the beach. Lots of large drift wood to climb over when you get to the beach. Shorter than the hike to Third Beach, the access to Second Beach is also a little more interesting, thanks to the ups and downs and a set of switchbacked stairs leading down to a coastline dotted with seastacks and a hole in the mainland that wind whistles through eerily. For quick hike (I didn’t camp here): Great in-and-out trail (not a loop as all trails app says), easily doable with light-med load, and all ages. Second Beach in Stanley Park is located at the junction of Stanley Park Dr and North Lagoon Dr next to Second Beach Pool, an oceanside, heated, outdoor pool. If you can’t make it all the way to either La Push or Kalaloch’s Ruby Beach - this beach is a wonderful place to see a view of the wonderful Washington Coastline.
